Summer Season Considerations
Unfortunately, Karon Beach is not ideal for beach activities during the summer months due to strong waves and rip currents. Lifeguards typically set up red flags, indicating danger, and rip currents or “tuguns” are common in this area, which have unfortunately led to fatalities when swimmers ignore warnings. For safety reasons, we strongly recommend avoiding swimming during the summer season, even for experienced swimmers.
